What's the Incubation Period for GOP-Debate-Related Illness?

Posted by on Wed, Sep 14, 2011 at 12:42 PM

Typically two days passes between exposure to the GOP base and feeling sick—well, for card-carrying Republicans who still have consciences anyway. The rest of the country was sickened immediately.

Actually, there's a name for those type of Republicans, Less Partisan ... thinking about issues instead of party, you should try it sometime.

You mean there are still card-carrying Republicans with actual consciences? Really?

I luv me some copy correction:
“For years I have tried to prove that the GOP isn’t the Party of elitist, stereotypical people that lack compassion.

Update - Sept 14, 12:51pm - An earlier version of this post accidentally used “is” rather than “isn’t” in a quote by Reidy. That’s now been amended. The thrust of the piece remains the same.

yeah, nice thrust, there...

@1, how have the Republicans thought of the country instead of the party in the last 10 years?

Selfish, compassionless, oppressive, mean spirited are all things I've used to describe Republicans for years. If some Republicans are only waking up to this, then add slow witted.

@1: i think about the issues all the time. i know of no issue the GOP is remotely correct about. not even about the need to cut spending.

@1, Equating 'thinking about issues instead of party' with being Less Partisan implies the only alternative to your party's position is that of the other (major) party. I always put issues first, and while I may not always agree with the Democrats on some issues, those disagreements never put me in alignment with the GOP.

this would be an interesting case study for my epidemiology class.

Looks to me like the republicans are officially trying to separate themselves from the tea party.

Probably since the tea party's polling numbers are abysmally low.

Rats off a sinking ship...

Shit, I live in a city that has been overrun by nothing but fail trolls. I mean at least the Art of Trolling is funny. In one area people claim "not everyone represents the whole party" then in another "everyone in that party thinks the same" ... so which is it? Hint: The same answer goes for ALL parties.

It's poisoning if you throw up immediately after consumption of the Republican Virus. That usually comes in projectile form so if you're going to watch a debate, get some towels ready and get animals and small children out of the room. A gallon bucket next to the couch is also recommended.

@1 You vote for them, you carry the whole can. You can't have your cake and eat it.

That's why I don't watch their debates -- I would be sickened immediately!
