A Great Excuse to Get a Nice Haircut

Chances are that you've frequented a Planned Parenthood for free birth control, STI testing, cancer screenings, or family planning services—or you know someone who has. Over thirty percent of Washington women report relying on Planned Parenthood for health services.

And now you can help maintain this valuable resource in one of the easiest ways possible—by getting a $45 haircut this weekend.

Simply make an appointment for a $45 cut and style at a participating salon on September 17th or 18th, mention Chic for Choice or Planned Parenthood, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Planned Parenthood's People in Need Fund, which "assists those who do not qualify for federal aid or do not have insurance in accessing basic, preventive reproductive health care services." You know, like birth control and STI tests.

You will look good and feel fucking awesome.

One more thing: Make sure to tip your stylists, because 1) it's just good manners and 2) they're being incredibly generous by participating in this fundraiser.

This is a great idea - I hope more stylists participate next year. A solid chance to to pick up new clients, which midlevel and below stylists have been struggling with more than usual lately.

What a coincidence. I am about due for a haircut, and I think Planned Parenthood is awesome.
