Burglar Robs Little Girls of Costume Jewelry, Wii

On Monday, September 5, officers responded to a call about a burglary at a private residence on Beacon Avenue. The items reported stolen suggest that the burglar had a child's taste in toys.

The police report states that an unknown suspect entered the residence through a basement window. While the man of the house had managed to clean up his room, officers on the scene reported that the bedrooms of his two daughters were still in a "ransacked state," with drawers and closet doors left open.

Reported stolen were a laptop from one girl's bedroom, "miscellaneous girl's costume jewelry" from another, and a "Wii game" from the living room. What was the suspect thinking, exactly? Stealing a laptop makes sense and a Wii is pretty awesome. But costume jewelry? Plastic pearls could look valuable in the dark, I guess. Or maybe the suspect simply wanted to look like a pretty pretty princess while laughing and playing Wii tennis, while at home on Beacon Hill two girls cry alone, jewelry-less and Wii-less.

Way to kick a few girls while they're down, crook.

Burglars have been known to give presents to their own little girls as well, dear intern. Sometimes pre-loved pieces of play jewelry.
