How Many Days Has It Been Since a Prominent Homophobe Was Caught Up In a Gay Sex Scandal?

Now you don't have to wonder.

Convenient! Or should I say...handy? Naw, too easy.

I love it! Let's put this all over Facebook.

I just imagine a sign hanging in some right wing-nut homophobe meeting place, akin to the signs in found factories that proudly proclaim how long it's been since their last accident. Only the right wing version says, "_____ Days Without A Gay Scandal!"

I think a column for the homophobe's explanation would make it even more entertaining.

Well, McGreevey did sign New Jersey's domestic partner bill. That makes him a homophobe?

Westlake, son! 7
Good thing they made this site, earlier today some douche removed that category on wikipedia and removed links to it from the wikipedia bio pages of politicians in it.

No one between Eddie Long and Phil Hinkle? That's gotta be wrong...

this guy I know in Spokane 9
Wow, it's already been over 4 years since "wide stance" entered the lexicon? Time sure flies, doesn't it.

@natalie Hm, might be worth doing. Could y'all sloggers dig up the excuses (w/ citable link) for a majority of the "winners"?

@theseamster I didn't find anyone worth mentioning in '08-'09 (I decided against including http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rembert_Wea… because he seems to've been pushing for reform more than anti-gay policies). But if you do, let me know.

Also, after getting an email (thanks!) and reviewing his record, I've removed McGreevey from the list. Looks like I got that one wrong, thanks for calling me on it.

@11 - Nice to see responsible web managment, thanks. And, due to the Wikipedia move mentioned above, this does fill a hole that needs filling (see what I did there?)

What is the definition of "prominent"? People in politics? People who have been on TV/ Radio/ whatever? People who have made anti-gay comments on TV/ Radio/ whatever? Where is the cut off?
Posted by Schweighsr on September 7, 2011 at 11:01 AM

@13 I don't have a specific cutoff. Politicians, celebs, pundits … anyone who uses a position of significant authority or social power to push forward a hypocritically homophobic agenda.

If they're not prominent enough to be a public figure, or if they're not being hypocritical, I won't include 'em. If you think anyone's listed who shouldn't be, or isn't listed who should, email me.

My work blocks this website as "adult." Does it have feelthy pictures of prominent homophobes on it, or something?

I'd ask for an app, but it would be so annoying when it kept going off in class.

@15 It has pictures but they're all SFW. Most graphic is one of Roberto Arango shirtless. It's probably being blocked for having the words "gay sex" in it.

@16 I don't have appmaking skillz, but would be happy to work with someone who does.

Time to add David Scratchley? Manager of a Seattle drug-treatment center charged with attempted child-rape.

Child rape is not homosexuality.

@ Spokalou--Child rape is not homosexuality. That calls for a whole new list.
