Every Child Deserves a Mother and a Father

Posted by on Mon, Aug 29, 2011 at 4:30 PM

A Southern California man was arrested after authorities say he threw his crying 7-year-old son off a sightseeing cruise boat during an argument that shocked passengers on the boat.... "The father hit him several times and then threatened to throw him overboard if he didn't stop crying," Amormino said. "The crowd on the boat became very angry at the father for hitting the kid and extremely angry when he threw him overboard." The boy was rescued by another boater, and the father also jumped in to save him. The boy and his brother were returned to their mother's care.

The 90-minute tour on a 42-foot boat called "Queen,"

The Queen. Once again, gays are to blame.

Did he jump in to save the kid, or to avoid getting his ass kicked?

God, what a dick. "told the child he needed to toughen up, and then threw him in the water." That kind of shit is exactly the reason my older sister, to this day, is afraid of boats and doesn't like to swim, even in pools. Asshole.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE? And why does it not say anywhere whether or not this DB was arrested?!?! I seriously despise human beings. Unbelievable.

this guy I know in Spokane 5
Well, at least he wasn't gay. (Although the boy probably is. Crying at age 7 = sissy, after all.)

Yet ironically the hands-off/get-out-of-my-business Republicans want to interfere in the most personal business of all and get rid of birth control and abortions. We should be seeing even more unfit "parents" in the future (along with more kids abused/killed by their parents) should that come to pass.

To quote a Planned Parenthood bumpersticker I once had until my car was vandalized in Utah - "A world of wanted children would make a world of difference."

@4,

The article mentioned that he was unavailable for comment after he was "released," presumably from police custody.

I'd like to know where we can donate money to his ex's attorney fund.

I have been tempted to do this on any number of occasions. That would however require touching one of the nasty things.

Please please please tell me that "The crowd on the boat became very angry" is some sort of soft-pedaled metaphor for "somewhere between six and ten very large men commenced kicking his face in."

@4 The linked article from the NYT said he was arrested, but has since been released.

What I wonder about is how does this asshole treat his kids when he is alone with them? If he's going to pull this kind of outrageously abusive crap on a crowded boat, what kind of shit is he doing in the privacy of his own home?

I hope he's prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law--but even in that case, his kids will suffer, since if he's incarcerated he'll be unlikely to make his already-reduced child support payments.

@4: Also, the first 6 words quoted by Dan are "A Southern California man was arrested..."

definitely the cure for this situation would have been to abort the kid....

Once again "Every Child..." features a child in a broken home.

Every Child Deserves a Mother and a Father Who Are Married (to each other...)

Do you get it yet, Danny?

When we had our first son, my wife's cousin had this advice for us:

"It's normal to *want* to throw your kids out the window (or off the boat, in this case). What's not normal is actually doing it."

18, Are you arguing that the child didn't have a mother and a father? Or, are you saying that divorced straight men are a danger to their children?

@22/18: I don't know Trollypants, can you? If so, why don't you mosey on over to today's addition of Every Child Deserves a Mother and a Father and take a gander at that particular “Mother and a Father Who Are Married (to each other…)” who killed their ten year old by thirst.
Do you get it yet?

What are you complaining about? It was a boat, not a bus. He was just teaching the kid to swim.

Yes.

We need to make it the law for all unmarried couples to use contraceptives and get abortions if they fail to comply.

Also, all kids should be put down in case of divorce.
