A tantalizing collection of reports on the adventures of the city's furry community animal population.

Seattle's neighborhood blogosphere was abuzz last week with all kinds of unusual happenings in the natural world. Come journey into the myopic, tail-chasing realm inhabited by neighborhood bloggers our animal friends:

Cats and Dogs Get Lost in Search for Wisdom, Meaning: Wallyhood and Fremont Universe both posted notices that housepets had gone missing, leading Fremont Universe to wonder why animals have disappeared in such large numbers. Perhaps the animals were swept up in a temporary, yet all-consuming, spell of ennui and became so lost in thought that they couldn't find their way home.

Human Bites Rescues Dogs: A wonderful and selfless human, Kim Swanson, saved two dogs from a housefire on Sunday, writes Central District News. Swanson was walking past the house in question and, when she saw the terrified dogs through a window, raced inside to save them.

Killa Honey Bees Swarm: A Wallingford man decided to build a bee farm in the middle of the city.

The Steller's Jays Are Hungry: and they're going to feast on the flesh of hazelnuts, according to photos featured on West Seattle Blog. The pictures, taken by a local nature photographer, show the birds breaking open the nuts' shells to eat their sweet, sweet flesh.
