That's pretty harsh... and Perry defines "treasonous" as any moves by the fed that might improve the economy, the lives of everyday Americans, and Barack Obama's chances of reelection. And why shouldn't Americans suffer? They committed the sin of electing a Democrat, after all, and for that voters deserve to be punished. Sullivan:

He seems to think, in other words, that the man who was the head of George W. Bush's Council of Economic Advisers and was appointed to Fed Chairman by George W. Bush is somehow a Democratic party operative trying to win the election for Obama. It's a staggering assault on the integrity of a civil servant grappling with some of the most serious economic problems this country has faced in our lifetime.

Sullivan says that Perry's comments should disqualify him from the race. They should, they won't.
