What a Fucking Awesome Sandwich I Just Ate

Posted by on Tue, Aug 9, 2011 at 2:12 PM

Grubwich, hot and steamy.
  • Hot and steamy SW Turkey Grinder.

Allow me to introduce you to the brand-spankin' new Grubwich sandwich joint on Capitol Hill.

This is the SW Turkey Grinder—freshly grilled turkey, onions, tomatoes, green chili, cheese, and a generous squeeze of creamy chipotle ranch dressing on a freshly-broiled hoagie. It's available for $7.

The space is bare-bones charming, the sandwiches are steamy and delicious, and they have floats. Also: Free fries to celebrate their newly openedness! Here's the full wall of menu options:

YOURE WELCOME.

I don't want to feel like I know I'll feel 30 minutes after eating that, no matter how good it might taste.

It looks like a meal to share, or have half for later. No wonder they're $7.

I'd like one of those sandwiches BEFORE somebody had already eaten it.

@6, GG has it right. You are talking gibberish--white space or noise or whatever means nothing to me. All I do is push a button. I am a button monkey.

I am sorry my pics make you weep blood. *Hugs!*

Had the chicken Philly-ish, or whatever it's called, today. Good! Fries are free as a grand opening promotion. Good Good! I like the free jukebox too.

Even camera phones often have a white balance setting. Mine does. I wonder if someone has played a prank on you and set yours to always be blue.

That sandwich is a fairly direct ripoff of Other Coast Cafe's Ragin' Cajun sandwich. Go for the original.

@30: wrong. it's a fairly direct ripoff of the place i worked in college:

www.beaverstreetbrewery.com/bssandwiches…;

@29 The turkey meat came from... a turkey. We thin slice real turkey breast and cook from raw on our flat top - no deli meats here.

Come and give us a try!
