Teabagger sends a message by open carrying at rally in Hudson, WI.
  • An angry teabagger sends a clear message by open carrying at rally in Hudson, WI.

It's recall election day for six Republican state senators in Wisconsin tomorrow, and with control of the state senate at risk, the teabaggers are responding in the manner they know best: with threats of violence.

Vince Schmuki, a leader of the Ozaukee Patriot tea party group compared the recall effort to a terrorist attack.

"This is ground zero," said Schmuki. "You remember what the term ground zero means? We have been attacked."

He continued, "Tuesday is going to be the beginning of our takeover. And we're going to follow it up the following week, and then we're going to polish off the enemy in November 2012. Who's with me?"

That's right. Democrats are terrorists. And we all know what we do to terrorists. No wonder so many Republicans have reportedly showed up at rallies in recent days, openly carrying weapons. Tuesday is going to be the beginning of their takeover.

And it wasn't just one speaker adopting violent rhetoric in an effort to inspire his fellow Republicans to action. At the same rally in Thiensville, WI, Tea Party Nation CEO Judson Phillips, who the day before had compared protesters of Gov. Scott Walker to Nazi storm troopers, attempted to rile up the couple-hundred-strong crowd of teabaggers by accusing liberals of genocide:

"I will tell you ladies and gentlemen, I detest and despise everything the left stands for. How anybody can endorse and embrace an ideology that has killed a billion people in the last century is beyond me," said Tea Party Nation CEO Judson Phillips.

I won't go so far as to accuse all those on the ideological right of being sociopathic killers, but if you don't think there are at least a few teabaggers who are willing to take up arms, if not downright looking forward to it, in their paranoiac struggle to reclaim America, you haven't been paying attention. As one angry emailer once wrote me when finding himself at the losing end of our correspondence: "You can have all your fancy words, but we own all the guns."

Or what some far-right political strategists call "Plan B."
