Oh My Gosh, You Guys! What an Enormous Package!

Posted by on Mon, Jul 25, 2011 at 3:20 PM

I get stuff in the mail at work all the time, but I almost never get anything in such a big box!!! How exciting! I can't wait to see what's inside...

Here we go...............

IMAG0734.jpg

Whatever's under this brown paper must be really exciting, fragile, and BIG to warrant such an enormous cardboard box!!!

Almost there.....................

I'm so excited....................................

It's a.............................................................

It's a...................................................................................

........oh.

IMAG0735.jpg

It's an Another Earth promotional flippy-cube. (Note: The photo below is larger than actual-size.)

IMAG0736.jpg

Um...you guys know there isn't really another earth, right? It's just a movie. We don't actually get to switch to that one once we use up all the resources on this earth mailing promotional garbage around in comically giant boxes filled with bubble wrap.

(In a related story, I cannot stop playing with this fucking flippy-cube.)

I thought this was going to be about Frizzelle. Oh well.

P.S. Excellent nails - color, length, gloss. My mama would be proud.

ITT: Marketing works. Not only did you add extra psychological value to this item by making such a big deal of it but you posted to your blog for the whole word to see the advertisement. You are the ideal consumer, good job!

Is it like a Magic 8-Ball, but with fewer possible outcomes?

@2 Who cares if the packaging kills the planet? The marketing works!

Re. 7
Must agree with Gloomy Gus; that looks like the non-annoying orangey-red I've been looking for. Name that polish please, Ms. West.

@6: There's only one perspective to look at any story from! Seeing different angles hurts head!

A couple of weeks ago, I got a microSD memory card (about the size of a fingernail) wrapped in a box as big as a toaster.

So... what does it do? Besides use a lot of packaging, inspire blog posts and whip people into various hostile fits.

I didn't know that Amazon handles promotional shipping for films now. Interesting.

As @1 noted, pretty nails!
Maybe you should get a side-job as a hand model? Or a hand job as a side model. I'm not sure what a "side model" is, actually. Did I mention that your nails look pretty? Well, they do.
