Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum raised $582,348 for the 2nd fundraising quarter, according to the campaign. That places him near the bottom of the GOP money race.
To put things in perspective: Even Worst Candidate in the World Newt Gingrich raised $2 million in the second quarter. And that's a quarter in which Gingrich's top fundraisers quit. Does this mean we can stop pretending that Santorum is a real candidate now? He can barely afford a campaign sign.
