Gingrich Hits Bottom, Keeps Digging

Posted by on Fri, Jul 15, 2011 at 1:27 PM

Well, I guess there is something worse than being Rick Santorum and raising pocket change in your run for president:

Newt Gingrich’s campaign is over $1 million in debt, according to the campaign’s financial disclosure obtained by the Associated Press. The campaign is required to file their second quarter fundraising report by the end of today.

Gingrich’s campaign raised $2.1 million dollars since he entered the race in May. But he spent $1.8 million and accrued $1.03 million in debt, which includes more than $100,000 in legal fees.

Do you really want this guy in charge of the economy?

Okay, wait...did no one else catch that the reason he bankrupted his campaign was that he was hiring private charter flights from...wait for it...Moby Dick Airways?? So basically we have a batshit megalomaniac hell-bent on a doomed Presidential Run, and he's now blown all his money on...again... "Moby Dick Airways"? Should he be legally obligated at this point to change his name to "Ahab" and seek treatment for his utter lack of an irony gland?
