Though technically not in Seattle, Mt Baker does an annual on-hill egg hunt, if you find the golden egg you get a season pass for the next year... Pretty cool!!

There is an annual Easter egg hunt at The Stranger's offices on July 10. Be sure to dress up -- bunny costume, bonnet, whatever -- and bring eggs to hide.

A midsummer drinking and egg hunt would be awesome. Pub crawl time!

@5: Game on. People do Christmas in July with ugly sweaters and decorated inflatable palm trees, right? Why not do Easter in August (yes, I know the months do not match up, but it has a nicer ring to it than September or October) with creepy bunny outfits and sand castle buckets with sand and beer!

This isn't an answer to the question, but it reminds me: my family once did an adult hunt on Easter because all of the kids had become too old or too cool-for-school to humor us and hunt eggs. We hid those airport bottles of liquor. Certain bottles were supposed to be chugged immediately upon finding... the details are fuzzy, but I know we all had a lot fun. However, *some people* decided that it was an improper way to celebrate Easter (whatever) and so we never did it again.

This is code for some sort of arcane sexual practice... right?

Ah, Seattle, where people love to act like children, but go to great lengths to avoid interacting with actual children.

learn how to forage for edible wild mushrooms and every time you go out it's exactly like an easter egg hunt...

Grow up already. Having a silly impromptu booze in an egg hunt a la @10's family did ONCE is fine. It's fun exists in the moment and as soon as you organize it as an exercise meant to infantilize adults it gets creepy and ridiculous. Put down the cupcakes and stop trying to relive your childhood. I'm sorry if in retrospect you don't think that you got the most out of it, but trying to recreate it now is a waste of time. The flaws and mistakes made the first time around are what make it special, not having a Hallmark© plastic version of the ideal.

@18: Chill. It turns out that *most* scavenger hunts do not cause brain damage nor do they do much damage to society. Having a fun social treat hunt pretty innocuous.

Orienteering is not far from an Easter Egg Hunt. There are flags planted in the woods. You get a map showing their locations and you have to find them. There's a meet Wednesday at Robinswood Park in Bellevue, 5-7 pm, beginners welcome. More info @ cascadeoc.org

We have an adult Easter egg hunt every year. Everyone decorates the minibottles (Hey Christy O!), brings them to our house, and we all hide them. You have to drink every third one. (Mmmm, warm tanqueray!) Once we find them all, we hide them again, and again. Luckily, no one is sober enough to remember where, so it works out. We do it the Saturday before Easter. And we serve deviled eggs and ham. I'd invite you, but don't live in Seattle. Why don't you throw your own?

But you have to be invited.
