Michele Bachmann Flip-Flops, Says She Doesn't Identify with John Wayne Gacy Now

Make up your mind, lady! Huffington Post has the news on Michele Bachmann's latest flip-flop on sharing a spirit with serial killer John Wayne Gacy:

The GOP congresswoman told CNN on Tuesday her comments "were just misspeaking" and that her main intent was to show she identified with Wayne's patriotism.

"I wish I could be perfect," Bachmann said. "I'm a substantive, serious person" who has "good sense on how to turn the economy around" as president.

Candidate pro tip: If you have to say you're a substantive, serious person, that means nobody believes you're a substantive, serious person.

But Michele, you are perfect. Just not in the way you think, or the GOP would hope.

Meh. So she misspoke. Every pol has done it. At least she was smart enough to just say "I was wrong and I meant to say something else" unlike Palin's blaming the gotcha media or attempting to rewrite history.

Bachmann's still a dipshit though, don't get me wrong.

Amazing flip flop...almost as bad as Obama confusing Wall Street with Main Street for the first 3 years of his administration.

How long until the ghost of John Wayne Gacy issues a cease and desist order to the Bachman compaign?

Time to let the serial killer one go and move on to the next:
Michele Bachmann Says John Quincy Adams Was 'One Of Our Founding Fathers,' Flubs Slavery Remarks

Honestly, I couldn't give a damn less about how stupid she is if she wasn't so intent on showing it in public. Besides which she's now made a target out of herself. You can't misspeak EVERY SINGLE DAY and not expect to have it broadcast everywhere.

Well, considering that she was really referring to The Duke, it's pretty obvious that this truly was just a slip of the tongue.

As Urgutha says, though, she's still a fucking dingbat.

"I'm a substantive, serious person" is her "I'm not a witch" moment.

She's a fucking idiot, a serious one.

Even if she was referring to "The Duke." He was a wife-beating thug who dodged the draft for his own self interest and then pretended to be a patriot in films.

THAT's the kind of person we need in office!

The liberal media needs to stop demonizing John Wayne Gacy.

I think the takeaway here isn't the section you bolded...it's the sentence right before that. "I wish I could be perfect" is just the kind of humble, christian-without-being-overtly-so generality that will drive the religious and the underachievers into her corner at every opportunity.

I'm still incredibly confused about this. Was she referring to John Wayne or John Wayne Gacy?

It's not this one flub - is is? - that's news. It's the now several flubs that's getting ink.

You can tell she went to law school because of her use of the word substantive. It's used a lot in decisions. Most laymen use the word substantial.

Doesn't matter, though. The Jesus freaks got 'em a candidate no matter what she says and does save announcing that she's a Disciple of Satan or some shit like that.
