Compton still has stables (as do Hawthorne and Tujunga) and Watts has a rodeo champion. The hood is mad country, son.

Not sure if you are aware of it, but there's been a similar program in NYC for many, many years. www.freshair.org

When husband and I got married years ago, we asked people to donate.

I wish there were more programs like this nationwide because the fact of the matter is, the thing most likely to break down barriers between people is actual contact.

Well, it is winter time. You can tell by the trees. The horse has a winter coat and is a bit shaggy which is natural for that time of year. S/He's a little muddy from rolling or running in the mud. A good currying and brushing would improve his/her looks considerably. It's a good sign that s/he's up at the fence being inquisitive and friendly. Sounds like a good program for the kids.
