1. Mitt Romney is skipping the July Republican debate. As Politico says:
The move reflects the frontrunner's attempt to limit his exposure to opponents who almost certainly won't be as gentle with Romney as they were at the New Hampshire debate earlier this month.
Translation: Mitt Romney is a big baby who can't survive a direct hit on his record, so he's going to hide behind his own piles of money and pretend he's already the candidate.
2. Looks like everyone's fleeing Newt Gingrich's campaign for Rick Perry's not-a-campaign-yet campaign. Hell, it even sounds like Newt Gingrich would flee his own campaign for Rick Perry, if he could. (And why not? With Perry's latest push against the TSA, he's going to be riding high on waves of positive public opinion for a while. Newt Gingrich has never been viewed positively ever in his life.)
