The Washington State Department of Transportation announced this morning that it won't challenge a King County Superior Court judge's decision to let Seattle vote on the state's $4.2 billion deep-bore tunnel proposal this August. “We respect Judge Middaugh’s decision that Seattle voters have a chance to weigh in on how the Seattle City Council will give notice to continue the agreements that protect the city’s interests,” said Washington Transportation Secretary Paula Hammond in a carefully phrased statement.
