Police now suspect homicide in the shooting death Saturday of a Gladstone, Oregon, beautician. But according to Jeff Kropf, the Oregon state director of the Koch-funded Americans for Prosperity (Washington State Republican Party chair Kirby Wilbur held the same post here), the real tragedy wasn't 54-year-old Deborah Lee Higbee Benton's murder. No, on his Facebook page, what Kropf finds truly "sad" about this story was the victim's apparently illegal same-sex marriage to police Sgt. Lynne Benton.

"Sad story..." Kropf says in his post. "Sad because she illegally married a woman police sgt who falsified the marriage application claiming to be a man and judge illegally married them." A 2004 amendment to Oregon's constitution bans same-sex marriage. "Will anyone be held accountable? Judge or Sgt?" Kropf asks, apparently unconcerned about holding the murderer accountable.

And if you think that's offensive, you should read some of the comments. "If one keeps their nose clean and obeys God's laws, the chances of being victims of violence goes way down," writes Victor Knox. "The Bible is true in this regard....long life for the righteous." In other words, I guess, the dyke bitch got what was coming.

Praise the Lord.
