Every candidate who wants to run for Seattle City Council this year needs to declare by June 10. Fortunately, you don't need to sit through soporific forums or navigate byzantine government websites to find out about the windbags who are running. Meet them yourself on June 9:

Ask the folks running for five seats anything you want—who are you, what do you believe in, and will you buy me a drink and a tunnel?—at The Stranger's cocaine-free, wig-optional Council Kickoff Happy Hour.

Incumbent Tom Rasmussen will be in the same room as Sandy Cioffi. Who is more qualified? Who is more homosexual? Also, council members Sally Clark, Tim Burgess, Jean Godden and those uppity challengers who think they can do better.

Admission is free. Unfortunately, you need to be 21 years or over, because it's a bar not a ballot.
