This week, the first Questionland Book Club is up and running. Our first choice is Jennifer Egan's novel A Visit from the Goon Squad. It's won every award known to humanity and it's just been optioned as an HBO series. Finding a copy shouldn't be that hard; it's newly out in paperback and at the top of just about every Seattle bookstore's bestseller list, though every copy is out at the library right now.

As you read through the book, feel free to leave questions, answers, and new discussion topics on our book club home page. We're still figuring out how a book club will work with the Questionland interface, but we figure the best way to learn is to get started. I'll be posting questions and getting involved in the next few days. Librarians and some of Seattle's finest booksellers will be floating around in there, too; expect some smart, interesting conversations.

Very soon, we'll be announcing the date and time for the Questionland Book Club happy hour. That's right; after all the digital discussion is done, we'll have an opportunity to meet in a real, live, meatspace bar and drunkenly battle it out over the book. If you have any questions about QBC standards and procedures, we have a whole Land set up for that sort of thing; you know what to do.
