Rocco, I thought you were going to make the NEA relevant again?

The City of Seattle posted the NEA's list of grant recipients here.

Egad, the NEA is more rotten than I thought. Tell Paul Constant to apply. Sounds like he'll have good chance at grant money toward his writing efforts.

"[A] production of Shakespeare’s Pericles that will tour to culturally underserved communities.." is that a joke?

That's quite a glass-is-half-empty perspective. There's a lot of great stuff on the list, including $30K to Artist Trust, $35K each to 4Culture and - ahem - Jack Straw, $25K to Degenerate Art Ensemble, etc., etc. And of course $891,200 to WSAC. Washington and Seattle are getting a lot of fed money for art! Yay!

Oklahoma is awesome, but does a production of a 65 year old classic by a huge regional theater really warrant that much federal money?

I'd rather see what WET or Satori Group or On The Boards or New Century or Strawshop could come up with if they had that kind of money.

THE REAL STORY here is that the ridiculous "Degenerate Art" gets 25K!!! SERIOUSLY??? I didn't realize 6 foot prosthetic tongues were that expensive, shocker.
And again Graves, 'small, narrow focus with a closed off perspective and shut down mind.'
(...that's you, btw)

Normally I would agree with a "WTF, Oklahoma?", but isn't Donald Byrd doing the choreography? That's going to be something interesting.
