4Culture Might—MIGHT—Get Saved

Posted by on Wed, May 11, 2011 at 1:59 PM

Folks, check it out: According to the 4Culture blog, Washington's Senate (Sen. Scott White of the 46th District—North Seattle—in particular) has just dropped a bill that would save King County's embattled veteran arts funding agency.

Here's what I've written about this drama before.

This bill sounds very similar to the bill that originated in the House during the session, the one that caused all the controversy. Will it pass now in special session? What on earth is going on down there?

For now we probably can't know the answers to those questions, so, I guess, we sit tight.

Big thanks to Senator Scott White for stepping up! My fellow arts and culture advocates are thrilled! Rs & Ds, Senators and Representatives --- follow Senator White's lead and stand up to aid 4Culture and it's support of culture - an amazing economic engine in our region.

They should recall SB 5834.

That passed the Senate once already.
It is sitting in Rules, move it to the Floor again, Stiking Amendment, and avoid dragging it into WM committee.
