1. It's Free Comic Book Day! Go get some comics.

2. At Pilot Books this afternoon, Jennifer Shaw will be reading. She's a fine art photographer who uses dolls and something that looks like tilt-shift photography to tell stories. Her new book is titled Hurricane Story.

3.There are two literary events tonight to keep in mind. Peter Mountford reads from his debut novel, A Young Man's Guide to Late Capitalism, at Elliott Bay. It's a semi-autobiographical novel about a young man who is living a double life in a South American country. And Francisco X. Alarcón and Gabriella Gutiérrez y Muhs will discuss writing poetry and Spanish translation at Piggott Auditorium.

4. Two celebrity authors will read tonight. Demetri Martin, who is a comedian who draws simple sketches and makes clever jokes with them, reads at University Book Store from his new humorous book of essays, This Is A Book. And Charlaine Harris, who is the author of the series of books on which the TV show True Blood is based, reads from the new volume in the series, Dead Reckoning.

5. Tomorrow night, Elliott Bay hosts a reading you should consider attending. Five local authors who have been nominated for the Lambda Literary Award will have a group reading. Poets Elizabeth J. Colen, Jen Currin, and Anna Swanson and novelists Carol Guess and Tom Schabarum will discuss what it means to be nominated for the most prestigious gay literary award in America.

6. There's even more going on this weekend. Check out the readings calendar for all the information.
