"What If You Threw a Tea Party and No One Came?"

"What if you threw a Tea Party and no one came?" That's the question Caitlin Moran of the Woodinville Patch asks after only eight people showed up at the inaugural meeting of the Tea Party of Kirkland, Redmond and Woodinville.

Although attendance was low at Monday's meeting, Woody Hertzog, the state's Tea Party organizer, said the local chapter could pick up members as time goes on.

Again, you gotta wonder if Washington State Attorney General and 2012 gubernatorial hopeful Rob McKenna hitched himself to the right wagon by embracing the Tea Party after years of honing his faux-moderate image? I mean, the Tea Party sure is beginning to look like the MySpace of politics....

LL Bean called, they want their quilted faux riding jacket and lime green Big Shirt back. Also, Michelle Duggar says, "Are you done with my hair yet, I need it for church."

Is that what when the Koch stop pouring money into that patriot movement? In the picture, it looks like Dick Cheney made it to the meeting at least.

Okay, so I have a suggestion. You know how Mormons have Magic Underpants, and they are about 2 months away from ruling the world? Well, if the Teaparty really wants to get ahead, I think they should wear these under all of their ill-fitting poly-blend suits:

They're called Junderwear, like Jeggings, but shorter...

OMG Canuck! I was just about to eat dinner, then looked at those and envisioned the pot-bellied teabaggers wearing those under their American flag shirts and now I have no appetite whatsoever.

StuckInUtah, appetite control is just one of the services I provide. The next time you are tempted by a Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia bar, just let me know, and I will hook you up with an appropriate photo. :)

Right now it's the pint of Coffee Heath Bar Crunch sitting in the freezer...
I'd offer to hook you up with the magic undies in return, but I lack the temple recommend and all the other fun stuff required to get them.

Myspace of politics for the win. I've always thought it funny when people assume that the Tea Party will become a permanent part of politics, or any time a fad is viewed as forever.

Let the Tea Party become the Zubaz of politics!

I really wanted the Tea Party to stick around forever, splintering off into their own party, disenfranchised for all time.

No, they're just breathing hard after their big shopping trip to Costco to get big boxes of Corn Dogs.

Ahhhh, Goldy, playing the amateurs game. Yes, McKenna has to play to the wackos for the primary but it's the general election that counts. All politicians play to the lunatics like you and the teabaggers, bit cone election day and governance, it's us in the center that counts. It's our votes they seek. You? You're irrelevant once your man is in office; didn't you notice Obama kicked you overboard the day he got elected?

"Back in August, only about six people showed up for the first meeting of the Sammamish-Issaquah-North Bend Tea Party, Hertzog said. Now, he says, that chapter has the most members out of any Tea Party group in the Seattle metro area."

So...nine?

How come the Koch Brothers did not offer a door prize, like a $1000 or year's supply of oil?

Snohomish County's a bit more conservative. Still yesterday's tea bagger rally in Everett an epic fail.

Wrong question Moldy. You should be asking, what if you had an election and only 1/3 of voters voted in support of new taxes, 2/3 against.
