Another day, another post about Donald Trump's skyrocketing poll numbers.

Of Republicans polled in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey on the question of who should receive the GOP nomination for president, Trump, the real estate tycoon, tied former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee for first.

Trump and Huckabee each received 19% of the nods from Republican and Republican-leaning independents in results released Tuesday.

Only 12% said they'd support former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. Below the hockey mom, 11% said they'd probably vote for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney or former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. Seven percent said they'd support Congressman Ron Paul of Texas.

Is it too early to start insisting on a Trumpabee Republican ticket for 2012? (Or would that be Huckatrump?) In other Trump news, Donald Trump says that if he doesn't win the Republican nomination, he'll "probably" run as an independent. Maybe Democrats everywhere should start putting Trump stickers on their cars (Trumper stickers!) to ensure that that happens; an independent run for president by this birther nutjob would be the best thing in the world for Barack Obama.

UPDATE: As Oliver Willis points out, Conservatives 4 Palin have the best headline on that CNN/OCR poll. Seriously: You should click over and check it out.
