Thanks to Modern Art Notes for directing me to this time-lapse video of the 2 1/2-hour drive from the Utah Museum of Fine Arts out to Robert Smithson's remote Spiral Jetty. The museum made the video in honor of its new exhibition The Smithson Effect, which looks at Smithson's (pretty huge) influence on contemporary artists—the "most ambitious contemporary art exhibition ever organized" by the museum.

The confluence is making me consider finally going (last year I decided it would instead be a more interesting work of art to skip seeing)—the drive from Seattle is only about 13 hours.
