Honey Badger Don't Give A Shit

Posted by on Mon, Mar 14, 2011 at 10:45 AM

I am sure many of you have seen this already, but WHATEVER! Watch it again! It's FOREVER FUNNY.

Be sure to check out the rest of "Randall's Animals", especially the Great White Sea Monster. Randall should clearly narrate all nature videos ever. It's time to retire Richard David Attenborough.

I have watched this so many times, and I still love you for posting it. For a dig on David Attenborough (his brother Richard is an actor) watch the Slowass Sloth.

Did anyone else know that certain animals could withstand a snakebite like that? I just assumed that if you were bit, regardless of species, you'd end up dead.

How cute-- ascribing human attitudes to animals. He belongs at Disney.

@3, a few mammals and birds are resistant to snake bites. Most of them eat snakes, so it may at some level be a resistance through exposure thing (a little bit of venom a bunch of times over a life time can make you immune) or its adaptive physiology, meaning that honey badgers that were a little bit immune to snake venom were more successful than ones who weren't at all, so a mechanism evolved to help process toxins faster/with less death. All in all, that's pretty badass.

@7 It's nature's arms race. I like the way he says "EW!" everytime the badger eats something. What does he expect a badger to eat? Burger King?

Am I the only one that was annoyed by that commentary? Maybe.
Disclaimer: I'm not a cranky old man or humorless troll. I just don't think that this is particularly funny. Obvious, boring, comments on what's happening on the screen with no wit about the animal or relation to mankind just don't do it for me. Try again please.

That was profoundly unfunny. Talk about repetitive and over-reliance on swear words. *yawn*

The Honey Badger is a very good looking badger. And a good runner, too.
