Lucky cat! I've always wanted to poop in the credenza!

I live in a tiny studio apartment in NYC. There isn't room for a litter box in my bathroom, under my sink, etc. So I had to buy a shitty IKEA storage cube thing and cut a hole in it in order to hide my cat's litter box. May seem silly to you, but I would have loved for this to exist when I was looking for it. Hahaha

That is actually quite amazing. My pretty princess wants one!

I have something similar (like this http://www.amazon.com/Merry-Washroom-Nig…).
And the problem is that the inside gets really messy and stinky. I basically have to cover the inside with puppy pads and scrub the walls and floors to try to get rid of the stink. I'm continuing to use it for now because of the cost. But I think I'll be switching to a table with a cloth over it to hide away the litterbox soon.

Make a mid-century modern version, and I'll buy it.

I am reminded of the Hoarders episode where the guy had bunny rabbits in his walls....how weird would it be, as a guest, to randomly see a cat wander out of the furniture?

That being said, if you're strapped for space, this is a nice-looking alternative to the "litterbox in the corner" method.

Nerdoscientist beat me to the punch: this is only going to work if your cat is 100% accurate about hitting the litter when it pees. Otherwise, it's gonna soak into the wood and there is no power on earth that will get that smell out.

...which is a pity, because it's otherwise a nice idea, and looks a lot less ugly than most enclosed litterboxes. Maybe if they sized it so that you could put a plastic enclosed litterbox inside it and have the doors line up...

Does it have a ventilation system?

I would buy that.

I think it's a great idea. If you don't have the space to hide an ugly litter box, this is a perfect product. I've also seen dog crates that double as nightstands.

More, I Say! 13
Ha! I used to put it under a small table and then I hung a wee privacy curtain (cat's privacy, my privacy) and got made fun of for it.! But no one wants to look at the cat box, OR have the cat come in to make a plop while yr entertaining guests...

...and do I have a miraculously well-aiming cat, or what? He never misses the box. That said, a nice vinegar soak/spray should help with the stench...

I got one, and it's great. Sorry (no, not really), but I don't like my cat's shitbox sitting out in plain sight. Also: apartment dweller. More efficient for space.

Yeah, it certainly looks better than a just a box, but I bet the smell is very, very similar.

I bought a decent television cabinet, put it on the floor, cut a hole in the back of it and installed an electronic air filter and a motion detecting light (they wouldn't use it if it was too dark). The litter box is inside the cabinet, not the cabinet itself, so there's no more mess than usual, and the air filter keeps the smell from getting out of hand. Most people have no idea I have cats until one shows up.

Not everyone wants to view their cats taking a crap, or the end result. There are cabinets made for the automatic-scooping litterboxes, and those have very little odor when properly maintained.

For people who don't have a mudroom/basement/spare bathroom in which to segregate the kitty shitter, these are wonderful.
