India's Terminator Makes Our Terminator Look Like Poopinator

Posted by on Fri, Jan 28, 2011 at 7:38 AM

If you are James Cameron, Michael Bay, or for that matter any person currently living in the United States of America, prepared to get your ass HUMILIATED by the most AH-MAY-ZING robot flick ever. What follows is a ten minute (and worth every goddamn second) excerpt from India's incredibly popular flick Ethiran (or Robot) which makes every American-made Terminator and Transformer look like a Play-Doh Fuzzy Pumper Barber Shop. This clip is dubbed in Russian, obviously because there aren't any English words to sufficiently describe it. WATCH. IN. AWE.

WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW.

They had a special screening of it at Oaktree back in October. It was a cultural experience.

Really, they should be teaching Hollywood how it's done.

Great! A 12 year old boy has finally been allowed to direct a big budget feature film!

Yeah I wanted to go to the Oaktree screening, and there was also one in Bellevue a little later. Couldn't make it, but my friends who went said it was great, up until the Intermission, when they were like "And it goes on like this?" Personally, I like the part when they teleport to Machu Pichu to have a dance number for no reason.

But ask and ye shall receive o' Slog:

@6, all Indian movies must have singing and dancing. It's in their contract or something. No matter how much CGI mayhem they create, it just isn't Bollywood without a dance number.

To be specific, this is dubbed into Hindi and Russian at the same time, as it was dubbed into Hindi from the original Tamil for a wider (North) Indian release) and Russia has the bizarre habit of keeping the original audio in its dubs. World cinema, ladies and germs.
