Comedy / Celeb / Books Geri Jewell Continues to Rule

Fans of The Facts of Life will forever remember Geri Jewell as Cousin Gerri, Blaire's standup comedienne cousin with cerebral palsy, and history will remember Jewell as the first person with a disability to be featured in a recurring role on prime-time television. Now Jewell's distinguishing herself further with a memoir that addresses (among many other things) her life as a lesbian. (Also, she was on Deadwood.)

1) I do not mean this snidely at all, but no fucking kidding she's a lesbian. Least surprising former-celebrity-outing ever.

2) That cover picture of her is great. She looks better now than she did in the 80's. I blame the hair.

3) She was in Deadwood!? I gotta go find that/those episode(s).

Thanks for the heads up on the new book.

Every time I see her, and the more I learn about her the more awesome she becomes.

Loved her when I was a kid, and loved her stand-up. And was thrilled to see her in Deadwood.

She obviously deserves an MTV show more than Dan. After all, she's female and disabled as well as a lesbian. Too bad about the white thing.

I want to see this as a reality series!!! OMG it would be so awesome...Disabled, Gay, 80s sitcom star with such a mouth on her she could be on Deadwood? That would be some freaking hot TV!
