Politics State of the Union: It's a Trap!

Only four more hours (and change) until President Obama gives his 2011 State of the Union Address! Join Stranger staffers and the Washington Bus at 5:30 p.m. at Moe Bar as we drink and liveslog the whole damn thing. Will Obama use or waste this opportunity to start ramping up for the 2012 presidential race? Will he make Republicans froth at every orifice by endorsing more federal spending? Will he make them claw at their ties and lady power suits by name-checking gun control legislation? Will bi-partisan seating force Democrat leaders and their Republican dates stand together and applaud the president's vision, or is his SOTU speech some sort of elaborate trap to make Republicans look stupid?

Or is it, like Rep. Broun says, simply all a trap????

If it was a trap, the Republicans would all be asked to sit together, preferably in a separate room with no windows and one narrow exit.

Anyone know of a cafe or bar in (or near) Lower Queen Anne that'll be showing the address? (I need to be in the neighborhood by 7:30.)

There's another gathering at Mae's Pub on 45th too, about a block west of I-5.
