Because What This Place Really Needs Is Another Horse's Ass

Posted by on Fri, Jan 7, 2011 at 5:38 PM

As you've probably noticed, Goldy, AKA David Goldstein, has been blogging for The Stranger for the past several months. He's been great. Even greatererer: He'll be starting as a full-time staff writer in the "news" section starting in early February. Sure, we don't embrace all of his positions—puritanical on liquor, longtime fan of Kim Jong Il—but at least we'll finally have an unbiased, nonpartisan, Seattle Times-approved journalist in the office.

Wait - the Stranger actually hired a motherfucking GROWNUP?!

Great news for my favorite hometown paper ever; Goldy, I hope this somehow winds up being good news for you too in the long run.

Can't wait to see the feedback from unregistered user.

Congrats Goldy! Now stop talking about yourself please. We know you are passionate about other topics as well.

The Seattle Times wouldn't know a real journalist if she jumped up and bit it on the ass.
Their "editors" have nothing better to do than snivel and whine while they ban people for saying "FUCK Republicans!"
We should get a Pulitzer Prize for Best Discussion Comment when we call out right-wing paranoiacs.

The consolidation of liberal media in this town is pretty much what I have been expecting and hoping for.
This was a good move for The Stranger in a variety of ways.

There are some good neighborhood blogs, and some good online newsy sites that probably should get together for a broader reach.

Good luck Goldy!

The Stranger is already the most important media voice in Seattle. This only increases that fact.

Suck it, Seattle Times!

Why hire another staff writer when you can just post links to other news sites?

The PI piece about this is hilarious, It starts with "Among Northwest scribes he is the equal only of Dan Savage in "f" bombs and first-person references..."
