Stalwart Slog tipper Joe found IBM's predictions for 2015 on Bloomberg just now:

Holographic conversations, projected from mobile phones, lead this year’s list. The predictions also include air- breathing batteries, computer programs that can tell when and where traffic jams will take place, environmental information generated by sensors in cars and phones, and cities powered by the heat thrown off by computer servers.

Also on the list: Laptops powered by kinetic energy. You can keep your holograms; I want to see some major advances in batteries over the next few years. Batteries haven't kept up with the capabilities of technology, and they're actually starting to be a little bit of a detriment. But, hey, at least we can dial our iPhones with our noses. Welcome to the future!
