The Municipal League Party at TWIST

The mood is pretty bleak at an election night "party" being hosted by the Municipal League of King County and some website or other at TWIST. Folks from NARAL at the party, folks from Washington Bus, folks FUSE—and all of these folks are de-fucking-pressed. The 75-or-so attendees are drinking fast and hard, staring into their cocktails, and not eating much from the neglected buffet. There's a group of NARAL supporters sitting beneath a giant mirrored disco pig. The NARAL supporters tell the SECB that at end of the night they're going home to drink vodka in their bathtubs—or out of their bathtubs. The SECB didn't quite catch it.

The mood improves at Twist—big cheers go up—when the Democratic mayor of Denver wins the governor's race in Colorado.

Nice post. Now just rotate the photo 90 degrees, please.

Um, naral didn't say they were drinking vodka out of the bathtub, SECB did. I believe they were talking about how upbeat they were about Patty's chances, and plugging Rick Larsen.

Only 10% of the votes have been counted in Colorado - I think that's a bit premature. We shall see.
