Check out the full readings calendar for all our listings, but here are two events worth your special attention:

Rowan Jacobsen reads from American Terroir: Savoring the Flavors of Our Woods, Waters, and Fields at University Book Store tonight. The book is about local food. The press release says to "expect an apple-tasting." I do not know how you prepare for an apple-tasting, but that is what you should do. You have been warned.

Meanwhile, at the Jewel Box Theater in the Rendezvous, The Nervous Breakdown Seattle has a launch party. This is a big goddamned reading of local authors that serves as a West Coast franchise of the popular online magazine for writers. Authors reading here tonight include Sean Beaudoin, Aaron Dietz, Litsa Dremousis, Tom Hansen, Lauren Hoffman, and Matthew Simmons.

One more time: The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
