A month ago, I posted an announcement about the second installment of the newest iteration of Seattle Bookfest that was supposed to be in November. Well, while I was away last week, this press release started circulating:

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the BookFest 2010 which was scheduled for November 20 and 21 at Magnuson Park in Seattle, has been cancelled.

Executive Director, Paul Doyle, and Event Coordinator, Sheryn Hara are both eager to reschedule the event in the spring of 2011.

The interest that was demonstrated by exhibitors, authors, publishers and the book-loving public was very encouraging. It is our desire that BookFest can again be a regular event in the Seattle literary scene. We thank again for your interest in BookFest.

I would love to see somebody do a Bookfest right.
