Andrew Garber noticed this earlier in the week: The new television ad from Bill Gates Sr. doesn't mention that I-1098's major component is an income tax on wealthy Washingtonians:

Why not?

"1098 is a broad tax reform proposal," explains initiative spokesman Sandeep Kaushik. "The one thing people have heard about it so far is that it includes a high-earners income tax. What they haven't heard about are the tax cuts for the middle class and small business. So we wanted to put the emphasis on that in introducing 1098 to voters across the state. This is just the first of a number of television ads that will air."

Meanwhile, am I alone in noticing that, on television, Mr. Gates Sr. looks a little bit like one of these guys?
