Ak her this: you fought the asbestos industry for years, trying to get asbestos out of the markeplace. You succeeded in large part, and have thus saved very likey thousands of lives over the next few decades. It was a big effort against entrenched big money corporate interests. And yet you never mention it...why is that?

Why are the administration and the Congressional leadership doing everything they can to make sure the Democrats lose as many elections as possible?

When will she take off the gloves and bury Rossi? She and the DNC and WA Dems need to attack him, his history, his positions, and everything else until he's a bloody political grease stain in the history books to ensure she's re-elected and to permanently end his political prospects in Washington. He's been a boil on our ass for too long.

Ask her why the President is such a pusillanimous sack of cowardice.

Or, to put it another way: judging from their actions it's obvious that Obama and the Congressional Democratic leadership want to lose the midterms - why is that?

Ask her if she'd support term limits for senators and congressional reps.

"How does the Democrats' position on executive power differ from the Republicans'?" "Does she support President Obama's continuation of Bush-era executive power (e.g., state secrets, extraordinary rendition, denial of habeus corpus to 'unlawful combatants', etc.)?"

@3 FTW.

@8 What do you have against democracy?

Ask her why the Dems are so afraid to be painted as terrorist sympathizers that they continue to let the FBI/CIA/NSA/etc trample our civil rights? Did they just forget about McCarthyism?

A few questions regarding same-sex couples:

1. When does Sen. Murray think marriage equality for same-sex couples will be the law of the land?

2. Before that happy date of total equality, what interim steps can we carve out to address some of the discrimation faced by same-sex couples? E.g., federal tax parity and social-security survivors' benefits?

3. With regard to same-sex couples where one partner is a U.S. citizen and the other partner is not, how strongly does Sen. Murray plan to promote the Uniting American Families Act (UAFA), a Congressional bill that would permit same-sex binational couples to stay together in the U.S.?

Why is Patty Murray wasting her valuable time answering blog questions?

@15 - Because readers of The Stranger are in danger of leaning right on this election. I know I'm tempted to vote for Rossi's smug face unless Patty Murray answers my asinine questions.

@16, it's like we're paying her to place responses to inane questions in a coffee can that will then be buried forever in an undisclosed location...

Ask her why her office does not respond to e-mails or letters from constituents. Isn't her job to listen to her constituents, since she represents them?

How many miles should one run on a single pair of running shoes before replacing them? I've heard different things from the medical and running community.I've heard nothing from the political community.

Why are you in Seattle talking to the Stranger when you should be in the rest of the state (Spokane, Tri-cities, Yakima, Fort Vancouver) telling them over and over and over what you've done for them?

@12, how are term limits anti-democratic?

I think that limiting the number of terms our congresspeople can serve could make it harder for corporations to get cozy with them and buy them off by promising to fund their re-election campaigns.

At my dental cleaning this morning, the dental hygenist was commenting about the shin splints she got from running barefoot.

So I'm going to have to disagree with you, @28.
