Something Ain't Right with Jan Brewer

Posted by on Thu, Sep 2, 2010 at 1:26 PM

Judging by the evidence of last night's gubernatorial debate, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is an elderly robot whose insides have begun to malfunction.

Here's her "opening statement":

And here's a post-debate run-in with the press:

The other possibility: Jan Brewer is hoping to launch a national political career by abandoning her duties as governor. (It worked for Sarah Palin!)

Thank you for bringing these clips into my life, Towleroad.

Good lord. That was just uncomfortable to watch. The fascism has ruined her public speaking abilities.

I'm liking this. It's generally good news when Republicans start to crumble around the edges.

Wow.. pure insanity in her eyes. She can't admit she lied to get votes, and she can't stand by her crazy statements anymore either. So... just ignore the questions and walk off. I thought Bush and Palin were stupid, but this bitch might take the cake.

I think she may have found herself on a slippery slope. Recanting the headless body statements would put into question the validity of her claims of rampant illegal immigration and unsecured borders.

The first clip I thought she was high or drunk. What's up with those long pauses?

Second clip, weird that her handlers didn't give her any good lines. She looks like a deer in the headlights.

Makes me ashamed of my home state.

As vacant as Sarah Palin is, at least she gives us something cute to be annoyed by. Jan Brewer is well past being the Cryptkeeper's wife. She's the Cryptkeeper's fucking grandmother. It's not cute.

more people need to see that this is the result of xenophobia, yes, kind of hard to watch, but the policies she is about is no less difficult.

it may not only be hate, because there is some mental degradation there, but it is also not coherent nor understanding enough for one that wants to run a State.

My first thought while watching the videos:

Lady Gaga's new side project is hella avant garde. It is clearly Gaga behind that old-lady facepaint, her eccentricity and voice are unmistakeable, but her commitment to the role is dumbfounding. To enact laws that go against her own stated opinions (her own tweeted opinions no less!)...

Why, that is art of the highest order.

The newscaster said "I did tweet the entire debate" but clearly she did not get her grammer guide for her sound bites correct. You cannot "tweet" a debate in the same way you cannot "spoke" a debate. She could have potentially tweeted about the debate.
