This Rain Is Unseasonable

Posted by on Tue, Aug 31, 2010 at 12:12 PM

I'm not complaining—even though it's 57 degrees and pouring here in Seattle on the last day of August—just pointing it out. If one were going to complain, it might be about this:

Forecasters say the showers should taper off Wednesday and the sun could return Thursday before clouds move in for the Labor Day weekend in Western Washington.

In no way, shape or form is it "pouring".

West Coasters and their hyperbole when it comes to rain is infuriating to people who've lived on the other side of the Rockies and have actually experienced "pouring" rain on a frequent basis.

Don't be such a weather baby.

But, yes, it is colder than a witches tit out there today.

@1 Weather hyperbole, you say?

It isn't cold either.

Maybe long pants weather at most, but not COLD.

Glad I didn't make any Labor Day weekend plans this year...

Cliff Mass hasn't weighed in yet, but while it will be cloudy Labor Day weekend, apparently there's no precipitation until Tuesday.

I'm actually kind of glad it's raining today. I feel better about staying at home reading all day.

You think you've got problems? The whole East Coast has a fucking hurricane coming down their throat.

@6 for the win.

The East Coast for the loss. Cause God is angry at you for allowing the Pharisees like Beck to go to DC.

I love it. I moved to Seattle knowing there would be lots of rain, and it was actually pretty damn hot for a lot of the summer, so I welcome the next 9 months with open arms.

It isn't even misting, let alone pouring, right now. It's just gray.

We need the occasional rainy day, or the air becomes unbreathable. I'll bet it'll be gorgeous later in the week.

I love the rain. Love, love, love.
There is always some sharp turn toward fall, this could be it or it could skip Labor Day, turn sunny for another couple or weeks and be followed by another blast of rain.

If you do not like it, even a little bit, move.
Goddamn.
