Let Your Kids Play in Oil and Toxic Dispersants!

Posted by on Tue, Jun 29, 2010 at 1:16 PM

This video is pretty slow and redundant at the beginning, but there's some great dumb-people watching in there!

Wasn't this posted to Slog already? "Ever Child Deserves A Mother And A Father, Gulf Coast Oil Spill Edition"?

the real danger is that it's not just oil, it's also chemical dispersants that have been banned in the civilized world. the action of these parents is criminal.

I'll say here what I said in the earlier post: the town, and the state, have a duty to shut that shit down so that us hoi polloi don't thoughtlessly risk our own and our kids' health.

Remember in Jaws how the town bigwigs wouldn't let Roy Scheider shut down the beach because they'd lose business over some silly possible public health threat?

That's my story, and I"m sticking to it no matter how many times Slog posts this video.

Hey Brissy, did you hear there's Still No Bike Racks Outside Safeco Field? If not you should post something on it.

I know this is wrong, but I love how Floridians aren't scared of anything. You won't see people wearing motorcycle helmets, let alone bike helmets, and everyone tans like they've never even heard of cancer. They're pretty much the opposite of us. It's kind of refreshing.

exactly what Andy Squirrel said.

no writers appear to ever read the slog, except to respond to comments on their own posts.

But... but... at the 3:20ish mark:

"They told us to stay out of this stuff."

And you decided to just let your kid run around to get some good video? Gah!

So strange to here southerners concerned about the environment. I guess until it gets on "them or in their car" it doesn't really matter.
