The Return of (a Weirdly Slurring) George W.

Posted by on Fri, Jun 11, 2010 at 3:27 PM

The Awl points out that George W. Bush has just uploaded a video promoting his latest products, which include an upcoming book and a policy institute. Are you ready for a blast from the past?

One thing I'm not sure about is: Why is the sound so bad? He sounds like he's slurring pretty badly. The other thing I'm wondering: Is he in front of a green screen? I'm pretty sure he's in front of a green screen. Could they not find any books for him to really pose in front of?

I'm not going to punish myself by listening, but watching it... he looks so sad and desperate.

Suck it, motherfucker.

Ouch, he's awful, a nightmare. But the 'slurring' is some kind of bad audio encoding artifact.

@2, And coloring books! Don't forget the coloring books!

The lighting on the background looks completely different than the lighting on Dubya. But considering the poor sound quality and the rigid line separating Dubya from the faux background, I'm guessing it was something lower quality than green screen. Microsoft Movie Maker?

It's in his contract that books of any type be kept at least 100 feet away from him.

So what would he sound like if he was slowed down all Goldblum-style? BAL of .33?

Why do coloring books need a policy institute?

God watching makes me think that I'm so fucking happy that he's not president anymore. Obama might be having problems with so much shit breaking lose right now but you gotta hand it to him that he's handling it much better than G-dub would.

In the fund raising ads I've seen of him and Bill Clinton together, they don't really like GW talk. I figured it was just because Clinton is so much better at it, but it seems to be for a whole bunch of reasons.

Not only does the background look fake, he looks fake. As if Pixar made the video.

Anytime you're feeling bad about the oil spill, or the economy, just remember that GWB is no longer president. Things could be worse.

Damn, he'd be so much better at handling the oil spill. His cronies would have caped it ASAP. Time to rethink the 22nd ammedment.

He's not slurring. He was one of the worst public speakers of any president we've ever had. The man can't string a sentence together without a teleprompter. Add bad audio, and this is what you get.

Quite pathetic, really. I mean, come on, love him or hate him, he was the president of the United States. This is the best he can do? The audio is terrible. Obvious green screen, and poorly done at that. He looks like he's aged a decade since he left office, even more worn and haggard than I've ever seen him. He looks like shit.

And what is up with the slurring? Plus he looks like hell. Could we hope for a degenerative neurological disease?

Raindrop dear, you people were the whiny little babies that insisted on the 22nd amendment to begin with, and now you want to repeal it?

What address do you want me to mail your flip-flops to?

Paul Pearson 23
That's totally a green screen, unless he's amassed a huge collection of large-print books.

Poor George. He should've stayed in Texas where he belongs.

why is his shirt the same color as his hair? he could be dressed a bit nicer, I mean, he was the president.

he either stroked out or he is shitfaced. and those books are definitely fake, like something from ichat.

In spite of the maniacal and shrewd efforts of leftists, George W. Bush will be remembered as a great or near great president.

Patriots should be weeping for him.

I wonder if Paul McCartney has seen all those books in his library?

ROTFLMAO!!!

I agree Obama IS a better looking war criminal. But Obama doesn't have as much to answer for as this fucking prick, does but he's trying!

But seriously, it's too soon to hear from Bush unless it's his announcement he has 3 months to live.

I think maybe we've all just gotten used to a President that can speak. Seriously. This is the way he always talked. We've all just blocked it out of our minds.

He sounds like he's out of breath/having an asthma attack. Maybe the hay fever isn't so hot in the Promised Land.
