Borderline, Feels Like I'm Going to Lose My Mind...

We all know that Darth Vader is deeply disturbed, and now we know his diagnosis: borderline personality disorder. (You and at least one of my exes, Anakin... heeyyyooooooo!)

The tragic hero of the "Star Wars" prequels displays patterns of instability and impulsivity in the second and third films that make him an obvious candidate for borderline personality disorder (BPD), according to French psychiatrists and psychologists.

So now you know.

(Yeah yeah this is four whole days old and you're so over it, I know.)

This sounds as if it could be a Superego skit.

I do not have the time to surf the internet all day long. I can hop on for a bit, but if there's a hot meme that was birthed lived and died within a couple days, I haven't heard of it. I know I'm not alone.

Does working for an Internet provider make it ok I surf memes all the time? I gotta make sure the tubes don't overheat as the meme spreads like wildfire!

@3 Upon further searching I found a book that was published in 2007 that goes over this and even further into searching I found a paper written in 1999.

The plots of the prequels don't make sense, the dialogue was all carved from a ham, LUCAS IS A BAD WRITER. Of course his protagonists aren't going to appear sane. I would still laugh at the youngling slaughter scene (if I could bear to watch that movie again) because it was just so supremely out of character. Not Borderline Personality Disorder, just bad writing.

For a second opinion... I disagree with the diagnosis. Though folks with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) do try to control their environment, it is for different reasons than Darth Vader. For someone suffering from BPD, every external event and situation creates a corresponding emotional reaction that cannot be controlled internally. The only way to get control over their emotions is to control their external environment. Darth Vader has control issues but the cause of those issues lies buried in his deep felt guilt over his mother and wife that cause his sense of self loathing that he was able to bury under Palpatine's ego massage which in turn led to his downfall. He shows many signs of emotional self control and ability to adapt his emotions to act appropriate to the situational constraints of the moment during the movies that indicate does not have BPD.
