Via Tribunali: Going National

Posted by on Sun, Jun 6, 2010 at 11:56 AM

From the Twitter of Ronald Holden (a.k.a. cornichon.org, a.k.a. Dominic Holden's dad):

Mr. Holden Sr. is seldom wrong in such matters. We've asked Via Tribunali/Caffe Vita owner Michael McConnell for confirmation... last time he was on Slog, it was for this mess.

via trib's character and quality dipped a lot when they expanded...

It makes sense - from the get-go, it had the vibe of a place that wouldn't be content feeding the likes of us yokels. It's always oddly entertaining to eat somewhere the owners would rather somebody better than us was sitting at the table.

Drunken hit-n-runs, all across our great nation.

AWESOME. Dominic is nothing but a spoiled child riding on his dads coattails. I knew his reporting and writing were to poor to have gotten to where he is at on his own. Must have been nice to have daddys money influence and connections. What a privileged jerk. WOw.

Well, @4, you can be assured that YOUR "writing ability" will never play a role in getting you a job, unless somebody inexplicably decides to start paying for scribbling in toilet stalls. How about you let us know your employer and job title, so we can judge the relevance of your "skills" to your station in life?

If you can't do that, you're just a shit-talking wanna-be.

Yes! Mediocre pizza for all, with a side of arrogance, of course.

Their pizza dough is always soggy. Is it supposed to be that way?

I drive 15 miles just to get 'za from Vince's.

Worth it.

Clearly the success of this place has nothing to do with food. You would know that if you've ever eaten there. I for one am happy to finally discover that the success of Via is all about the asshole owner who doesn't give a fuck! I bet he's one of 'em cut-through business type people who end up rich and alone. Hooray!

We can assume Ronald is right on this one, since he's been pimping this place since it opened.

So does this meet approval of the Stranger hive-mind or not? I'm confused.
