Yesss!!!! Anything that will bring about climate change FASTER and MORE QUICKLY. YES, BETHANY. Do it. DO IT. EAT THE MEAT. RAISE ANIMALS, KILL THEM AND EAT THEM, WHILE MAKING YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT EEENDDDLEEESSS. EEEEAAAAT THEEEEMMMMM. Rejoice, lambs, in the SLAUGHTER of the ANIMALS! Bethany will hold your carcasses thus, up to the sky, and devour them!!!!! And she will be the first upon the cross of climate change, and her body will be devoured by those who mock her, and she will scream out thus: OH LAMBS! WHY DID I TREAT YOU THUS?!! And it will be unholy, and she will be held to the truth.

I don't know if I'm grossed out by the event, exactly, but it does really bring home my basic feeling about meat-eating: If I don't HAVE to kill something in order to survive and even thrive, how can I justify doing it anyway?

Thanks for the list of restaurants to avoid (unless I'm looking for lame-ass people with awful taste).

Yea people that devour animals at the expense of the environment! Boo people that don't contribute to the senseless slaughter of animals! Boo people that don't eat meat and have a lesser impact on the environment! Yea people that eat animals and encourage the ridiculous waste of resources on the meat industry!

#8: Except Hitler was never a vegetarian. Whoops.

You know who was/is vegetarian or vegan? Gandhi, Albert Einstein, Cesar Chavez, Coretta Scott King, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Carl Lewis, Ellen Degeneres, Thom Yorke, Eddie Vedder, Joan Jett, Fiona Apple, Sinead O'Connor, Natalie Portman, Alicia Silverstone, and even Mike Tyson. Off the top of my head.

Hitler was the worst vegetarian ever ... on record, he the worst diet, and would only go vegetarian occaisonaly to make up for the shit heat.

well in MY defense, my point wasn't that meat is bad, it was that Hitler wasn't really a vegetarian, and that thing looks like a beast from resident evil ...

Does anyone else see it?

wow, there's a lot of veggie whining going on. maybe there's some meat envy after all?

glad you all can come up with a list of some 20 or so vegetarians out of a planet full of: how many billions over the eons? carnivores are so wrong; what were we thinking?

Bullshit, 22.

Yes, we used to have to eat meat. Yes, it was extremely useful to develop the huge brains that have developed shit like the internet and language and everything that you benefit from in modernity.

Now please use that huge brain of yours to consider this: We live in a time in which we no longer have to eat other beings in order to thrive.

Can you just pause and think about that for a second?

Tamara Murphy really is having the worst year ever, eh? Sad to see she's not on the list, but we'll honor her legacy in creating this amazing event by stuffing ourselves silly. Can't wait...

@25 Burning Beast is still a Tamara Murphy event and of course she will be there! She received additional requests from chefs this year so took herself out of the line-up to accommodate them! 14 featured chefs this year!

#21- Ron Jones is a rampant fooder and awesome artist who has the good fortune of being cool enough to be involved in the event each year. I've been to several of his dinner parties and look forward to noshing on his creations at Burning Beast.
