Books Reading Tonight: Dead Poets, Talking Dogs, and Vietnam

At Kobo Gallery in the International District, Michelle Cruz Skinner reads from In the Company of Strangers, a new collection of stories about Filipinos.
Elliott Bay Book Company hosts Karl Marlantes tonight. Everybody loves Marlentes's first book, Matterhorn: A Novel of the Vietnam War. If you're looking for something lighter, Seattle Public Library is hosting Peter Nelson, author of I Thought You Were Dead, a novel about a hack writer and his talking dog.
And up at Third Place Books in Ravenna, J.r.d. Middleton will read. An Dantomine Eerly is an experimental novel about the end of a poet's life. It has been published by an exciting new local publisher. I wrote about it a couple months back.
