After nearly a year of searching for her dog Harry's stolen ashes, owner Katie Barloon was reunited with the missing urn this week. MyBallard reports that one year ago this month, Barloon's VW Euro van was stolen out of her driveway with Harry’s ashes inside. The van was found, but the ashes weren’t there. But last week, an urn was found next to a creek in Marysville. Tests were run, and the ashes were detirmined to be those of an animal and the description of the urn matched Harry’s. Hooray, and welcome home, Harry. Speaking of stolen containers with precious contents, Westernco’s Donut, located at 7500 15th Ave Northwest, was broken into at some point in the early hours this morning. MyBallard reports that someone shattered the glass door, stepped in, and took only the tip jar and the candy machine.

In other relatively good news, Central District News reports that when police were called to 14th and East Thomas due to a reported "female voice screaming from the second story of an apartment building,” they discovered the cries were simply "triggered by exuberant video game playing." If only that was always the case. And in one last piece of random thievery, Central District News reports that two men stole a bathtub from a home on the 1600 block of East Columbia Street. They reportedly hefted the tub into the back of a blue '87 Ford pickup registered to a Kent address, and hightailed it out of there- perhaps to go take a much-needed bath somewhere. A recent sleepover event at Eckstein Middle School ended with some rattled nerves, reports SeattleCrime and Wedgwood View. Apparently, students were in a classroom asleep around 2 a.m. on May 8 when a brick came crashing through a window, nearly hitting a girl, whose arms were cut by the broken glass. The brick-throwing culprit has yet to be identified. Queen Anne View reports that the man who robbed the Wells Fargo on Queen Anne Avenue on Monday is still at large, so be on the look-out for a white man, 25 to 30 years old, 5′6″ to 5′8″, with a dark mustache and goatee. And speaking of rattled nerves, 22-year-old Marcus Combs, who’s been in jail with a $1 million bail since he stabbed a woman 15 times in front of her 9-year-old daughter on the street, was scheduled to have his arraignment yesterday morning. Instead, West Seattle Blog reports, it was postponed until May 26th as Combs undergoes a 15-day mental evaluation to determine his "competency to stand trial.”
