Head to Budde's for the ribs. They cook 'em right out on the sidewalk. And they're fucking amazing. And they've got free WiFi! And the ribs come with homemade mac-n-cheese! What else could you want?

Um, glad you enjoyed it. That picture proves that food doesn't have to look good to taste good, cause that looks GROSS.

Just sayin...

Hmm...did you ask them what kind of sauce they use and does it have corn syrup in it?

Looks good to me, you can keep the mac and cheese though.

@1 and 2 - Jesus, you two. It looks like a plate of ribs with mac and cheese. Delicious ribs with mac and cheese. Not everyone is concerned with whether food is plated up to look pretty.

Only social conservatives eat beef and cheese. Dan is a log cabin conservative, animal hater, environment destroyer, health system leech. Do something healthier and better for the planet, like take up smoking while driving a hummer to your McMansion in the exurbs.

Honestly, I'm glad to hear that Savage is this kind of meat eater as well. It can be lonely to feel like the only queer around who openly enjoys feasting on things like this (minus the macaroni & chizzle; that stuff's disgusting...)

Nom nom nom.
I have never in my life seen a street vendor that sells ribs. Maybe I need to spend more time in American cities.

You either need a new camera, or that is not fit for human consumption. I'm guessing the latter. I mean really - what is that? Burnt Tauntaun liver and guts? If I was Bubbe's, I'd be begging you to take that photo down. You're going to destroy their business.

I had a salad for lunch, some fruit for breakfast. And I didn't polish off all those ribs and only had a couple of bits of the mac. Okay?

Hey, you don't need to apologize on my account. My dinner last night was a double filet at Morton's of Chicago. Probably at least as "unhealthy" (and more expensive too, I'll bet).

Spare ribs, mac and cheese and a MacBook. Win-win combination (except of course for the barbecue sauce in between the keys on the MacBook.

That looks yummy and since I couldn't eat all of it I would share with two other people. To bad the sauce probably is loaded with all of the different named corn syrups.

I remember along time ago I had Mac&Cheese on Mac Day with other macintosh users. Years have now passed and I can't remember what day it was.

If you have to be in Galesburg, I'd suggest Landmark Cafe & Crepery, if they're still open. They had kick-ass Spinach Bisque.
Of course, it's been a lot of years since I lived there.

Hey Dan,

Sorry I missed you at Knox College. I was looking forward to your "lecture" but I was recruited for a camping trip instead.

I love Buddes, but FYI: they rarely serve ribs out on the sidewalk. Looks like I missed that occasion, too. If you're ever in the Dirty Burg on a Wednesday evening, go to Budde's for their buffalo wings. They rock!

Keep doing what you do,
-E.M.

WiFi and ribs.... Somehow I think I'd be afraid that I'd get sauce all over my keyboard. Yuckie!

Those ribs are AMAZING (with homemade sauce, not store bought and full of corn syrup...), as is the Mac-n-cheese, homemade and the best I think I've ever eaten. As for the "oh that's soo unhealthy" whatever. Its ribs and mac-n-cheese. And it comes with coleslaw, also homemade and delicioius. You can't eat healthy EVERY day. It's just not fun. Once in awhile you have to let loose... As for the "it's not pretty.." THEY'RE RIBS. Slathered in BBQ sauce. Messy. Delicious. YUM. I'm sure your lives must be boring to come here and take stabs at a picture of food taken from a camera phone (high quality photos, really!)

It's the first Friday of every month, and so worth it!

It's the first Friday of every month and if you think those ribs look good, you should try his BBQ Chicken It will melt in your mouth and you can taste the hickory even on the chicken bone, Carp is the Best cook around the Galesburg area.
So go on down to Budde's and get you some Soul Food!!!!!

Re: sauce on the ribs. It does not have corn syrup in it! Let's call it fruit sauce instead of bar-b-q sauce. It is made of tomatoes (fruit), apple juice (fruit), balsamic vinegar (grapes, fruit) now doesn't that sound healthy??? Plus it is all organic products (ok, that was a lie) @ 11 it is in Galesburg, IL and they are pork spare ribs. @ 7 http://www.facebook.com/BUDDESPIZZA. Come to Galesburg and see us sometime, we cook the first Friday of every month...Peace and Light...Sister Sauce and Big Daddy Carp.
