Currently Hanging (and Spilling): Catherine Grisez

Every piece in Catherine Grisez's current show at Traver Gallery represents a wound still spilling, and the show is called Lick.

A "brooch" in one piece is affixed directly to the throat, and shaped like slit-open flesh, pouring out a sort of necklace of semi-precious stones. That piece is featured in a closeup photograph—you don't see the face. In other works, the subjects look at their wounds as if they're trying to figure them out.

Pain, jewelry, eroticism. And a little bit of the grotesque. Check it out through May 2.

Actually Jen Graves, if you had seen the show you would know that none of the pieces are actually wearable jewelery but in fact sculptures....way to critique something you obviously know nothing about...
