Jujubee_1600x1200.jpg

Tonight is the finale of RuPaul's Drag Race Season 2. My choice of winner is pictured above, even though I KNOW JUJUBEE CANNOT WIN, because she has that weird "freeze" problem and a frozen Next Drag Superstar will not do. (Still, I love you Jujubee, and if by some chance you're allowed to win despite your weird habit of freezing during performances, I will scream so loud the police will come.)

Tyra's going to win. There's no getting around it. But let's do a quiz anyway.

Are you kidding? Tyra may be on hell of a diva, but Raven is so much more well spoken and respectable. There's no way (I hope) that Tyra's "beauty" can carry her to the very end when Raven's got the personality. Despite all this, I'm rooting the fuck out of Jujubee tonight.

I found myself liking Tyra more and more after the wedding dress episode. I still want Jujubee to win, but I will be happy with Tyra's inevitable success. I'm sick of Raven's complaining about everyone else.

I lost interest when Pandora Boxx got voted off.

"what is the "freeze" problem?", asked the straight guy.

Yeah, I was totally rooting for Pandora Boxx, but I think Raven's in with a good shot. She's had steady improvement across the season, so she's got that 'journey' thing reality judges are so enamoured with.

Still hoping Jujubee pulls an upset though.

All Tyra has is a pretty face.... Not enough to be America's Next Top Drag Queen. Raven will win, but I wish it were Jujubee.

Note of interest, this summer a new show from RuPaul, called "RuPaul's Drag U" where it sounds like contestants come to learn how to be a drag queen, the instructors are Drag Race faves:

Nina Flowers
Tammie Brown
Pandora Boxx
Shannel
Morgan McMichaels
JuJuBee
Ongina

Mmm, no Tyra? No Bebe Zahara Benet season 1 winner. Does this mean Tyra wins tonight? Just saying.
Excited for this new show however.

Raven should win. She is consistently the best drag queen, week after week. Also, she has the perfect amount of cattiness.

Is the episode being played in any bars tonight?

Who do I want to win? Jujubee, without a doubt. When she's on (like in some of her too-many Lip-Synch for Your Life performances), she's fabulous beyond measure. She has looks, style, personality...if only it weren't for that freezing-up thing. Who do I think will win? Tyra, probably. Even though I can't stand the rude, self-centered nit, I have to admit, she can perform. I just hope to god it isn't Raven! I just DO NOT get her--she's unattractive, skanky, AND unpleasant. I don't know how she's lasted this long.

I do miss Pandora!!

Good to have a RPDR thread today (was afraid that you'd lost interest David after the loss of Pandora).

I'm pulling for JuJuBee also, but think that the folks who say that Tyra wins may be correct. Raven has been getting the "bitch edit", Tyra's edit has been better as of late, and she's never had to LSFYL, and though I adore JuJu as you pointed out she does have the tendency to freeze - which was made even sadder when she froze in the challenge that was her's to win (singing).

No matter the outcome of the show, the real winner was Pandora Boxx. Her audition tape with the Michael/Pandora interview as well as the comedic timing that she has she (and Michael) is a talent on the rise and has gained a large following for having been on RuPaul's Drag Race.

Jujubee will win - please dear god not that bitter old back biting thang Raven and Tyra's head is so big they could not make a crown big enough and all she does is Beyonce. ALL SHE DOES!!!
Jujubee has the same class, style & composure as Bebe Zahara Benet did during the competition. But what do I know? Back biting seems to be the rewarded value these days. DANG!!

@10 Lobby Bar is showing the finale at 8PM, hosted by an all-star cast of Gaysha Starr, Glamazonia, and Lily Armani.

I think that Jujubee is easily the most accessible and fabulous, but I can't help but stay aware that this is a corporate sponsored prize involving a lot of personal appearances and that in some ways it puts RuPaul's reputation on the line.

Jujubee's performance has been spotty, and Tyra, offstage, is a flake and a disaster. As catty as Raven has been, I think that in terms of reliability as an employee and spokesperson for the corporate presence, Raven has it hands down over Tyra, unless they play to hire a cadre of babysitters for her.

i have no idea how tyra made it this far (or won so many challenges!) i mean, aren't drag queens supposed to have a personality?

it seemed to me that the judges made up their minds about the outcome and elimination order within the first few episodes. it actually made the show pretty annoying to watch.

I with the Pandora Box crowd; when they kicked her off the rest could just drop dead for all I care.

And Raven is exactly why I don't like drag queens in or out of drag: bitter and bitchy but never witty.

The show lost the second Pandora and Tatiana got the boot. All that was left were manipulative, mean-spirited, hateful and often-times completely two-faced (here's looking at you Jujuass) people. I don't want ANY of them to win.

As my hubby would say Tyra's "as dumb as a box of hammers and hair." Raven is smart and looks fantastic, and while I don't want her to be my friend, I think she's a fun performer.

But I was really annoyed that they didn't seem to get Pandora's style of drag which I find far more entertaining....her Carol Channing impression in the silly Match Game sendup was priceless.

I didn't realize tonight was the finale. More or less this means I can't go online the rest of the evening because I have to watch it online tomorrow.
